Fashion Design introduces students to the basic fundamentals, including fashion illustration, machine sewing, and hand sewing. Perfect for beginners, this class will guide you through the basics of sewing, from mastering your machine to creating your very first projects.

Learning Objectives:

1. Sewing Machine Basics: Get hands-on experience with sewing machines. Learn how to set up, thread, and maintain your machine, and understand the different stitches and their uses.
2. Essential Techniques: Discover fundamental sewing techniques, including straight stitching, zigzag stitching, and hemming. Practice these skills through easy and fun exercises.
3. Pattern Reading: Learn how to read and follow sewing patterns. We’ll walk you through the process of selecting and preparing patterns for your projects.
4. Fabric Selection: Understand the different types of fabrics and how to choose the right one for your sewing projects. Get tips on how to cut and handle fabrics effectively.
5. Project Creation: Start with simple projects like a pillowcase, tote bag, or simple garment. Gain confidence as you apply your new skills and create something practical and stylish.
6. Troubleshooting: Learn common sewing problems and how to fix them, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable sewing experience.
