At our state-of-the-art Jamaica Performing Arts Center (153-10 Jamaica Avenue), we offer a 400-seat, multi-functional performance space that can be configured to accommodate a wide array of events. At JPAC, we offer full-service front- and back-of-house amenities, management and support staff, a “sky-box” conference room and a multi-purposes rehearsal and performance spaces.

NEED REHEARSAL SPACE?

Through a continuing grant from the NY State Council on the Arts, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning is again offering qualified applicants access to subsidized rehearsal spaces at Jamaica Arts Center ( 161-04 Jamaica Avenue ) for just $10 per hour. Submit a rental request form to confirm eligibility.

This space grant is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

  • JCAL operates in two primary buildings: JCAL headquarters located at 161-04 Jamaica Avenue and Jamaica Performing Arts Center (JPAC) located at 153-10 Jamaica Avenue.  

    Our general operating hours are Monday – Friday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • JCAL headquarters is a five-floor, 45,000-square-foot landmark building hosting a number of versatile spaces to suit your needs. The ground floor offers two gallery spaces equipped with customizable track lighting. Also on the ground floor is a state-of-the-art black box proscenium theater with a seating capacity of 99. The second and third floors feature a series of multi-functional spaces, including dance studios, rehearsal space, music rooms, and conference/convening space.  

    Nested in the 1858 landmarked First Reformed Dutch Church, JPAC boast a 400-seat, multi-functional performance space that can be configured to accommodate a wide array of events. The theater features a “sky-box” conference room, dressing rooms, along with multi-purpose rehearsal and performance spaces. We offer full professional production services including lighting and sound as well as event staff and amenities for both front- and back-of-house needs.

  • JCAL welcomes arts exhibitions, theater, music, and dance performances, fashion shows and film shoots. If your artistic vision is not listed here, please reach out and we will see how best to accommodate you. We also welcome celebrations, graduations, galas, conferences, seminars, and worship services.  

  • Prices are determined by your rental needs. You can find a general pricing list at JCAL.org/rentals.  

  • Ready to request a quote? Please complete the Rental Request Form accessible via our website. Once your form has been submitted a member of our team will review your request and provide you with a quote. Rentals are confirmed only when a contract is issued and signed by both parties, and your 50 % deposit has been received. 

  • There is a minimum of 7 hours for general space rentals. This does not include any Space Grant rentals reserved hourly for the sole purpose of creative rehearsal time. Consecutive multi-day and/or overnight are reviewed for eligibility on a case-by-case basis. 

     

  • Cancellations are accepted without penalty provided a minimum of 10 days written notice from your confirmed reservation date. Please note JCAL retains 15% of the deposit to cover administrative expenses upon cancellation. Notice of cancellations received beyond the 10-day notice window incurs the forfeit of the full-deposit.   

  • YES! We encourage you to schedule a tour of our spaces in person. You can do so by scanning the QR below or schedule directly at Calendly.com/jcal-tours.
