JCAL Fall Lineup is Here! More Details Inside

JCAL's Fall lineup is packed with live music, theatre, classes, and more! The month of October marks the return of our beloved Thursday Night Jazz series, along with new exhibitions in our galleries, and at Resorts World New York City.

The Fall semester of JCAL Arts Classes is underway, and there is still time to register here.

Lastly, through a continuing grant from the NY State Council on the Arts, JCAL is offering deeply discounted rental space for rehearsals. Fill out the form here for rehearsal space at $10 an hour. For bookings of 20 hours or more, space is offered at just $5 an hour (valid through Friday, October 17).

Don't miss the season premiere of Thursday Night Jazz featuring a can't miss performance by George Cables!

George Cables has emerged as a major voice in modern jazz. In his musical career, Cables has prowled sidestreets and main thoroughfares, absorbing countless influences into his personal style. He has performed and recorded with some of the greatest jazz musicians of our time, including: Joe Henderson, Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie and many more.

Join us for the much-anticipated opening for Kro-Matic, curated by Adrian Bermeo. Meet the artists and view the fantastic exhibit at Resorts World NYC.

Kro-Matic is a group exhibition showcasing a spectrum of monochromatic artworks by 15 New York-based visual artists, each dedicated to a specific color. Though each piece stands alone in its distinct hue, together they form a cohesive yet complex dialogue exploring ideas on perception, individuality, and observing “the bigger picture.”

Shifting Seasons is curated by Alex Z. Alex specializes in creating immersive and inclusive art experiences that highlight emerging and underrepresented voices. His curatorial work is rooted in storytelling, innovation, and a deep commitment to supporting artists at every stage of their journey.

Join us for the season premiere of our free theatre series Meet the Playwright! Meet the Playwright offers an inside look at the creative process through semi-staged readings by Queens-based BIIPOC playwrights and post-show conversations with the creative teams.
