Wendy Arimah Berot
Director of Program OperationsIn her first life, Wendy was an IT analyst but changed her career path to dedicate herself to Arts and Culture within the BIIPOC community. She has held positions with BAM, Saint Peter’s Church, and Dixon Place. Born in Trinidad, she is a published poet and twice named Poet Laureate in Los Angeles. As a playwright, Wendy’s choreopoem, 1st Sin, 2nd Class, 3rd World, challenges antiquated ideas of women in society. She has also served as executive producer on Fierce Funny & Fly, a documentary that highlights the struggles of black women comedians.
In April 2024, Wendy was honored by PoliticsNY as a Power Player in Arts and Culture. She holds a BA in Studio Art from CUNY Hunter College.
