Three JCAL Moments That You May Have Missed
- December 8, 2022
This past week, our landmark locations have been home to various events, exhibitions and initiatives. If you'd like to get up to speed with all things JCAL, we have you covered. Below are several updates and moments that you may have missed.
ARTWorks Resident in Action
This past summer, we announced six artists that were chosen for our 10-month Artist Residency and Training Seminar Series, also known as ARTWorks. The residency focuses on emerging, underrepresented artists in New York City. Check out Kyung Eun You, a JCAL Seminar Fellow at work in this photo.
From Kyung Eun You (Via Instagram): "Spending sundays in jamaica, queens 😉 felt like little getaways. thank you @jamaicaartscenter for opening doors to its studios to me. big shoutout to @lisawade325 for her help throughout the ARTwork fellowship this year."

Two Exhibitions, One Evening
Last week, JCAL was home to two Exhibition openings! Our Community Gallery featured the opening of "The Art of Women" by Shenna Vaughn and our Miller Gallery featured "Reflection", by Saba Farhoudnia. Curated by Adèle Eisenstein.
Check out the two exhibitions at JCAL this month! Also, the official Artist Talk for "Reflection" is coming soon.
