Open call for Artists: Phenomenology Dream vs Reality - $250 Stipend
JCAL seeks applications from multidisciplinary artists to showcase original work in Phenomenology: Dream vs Reality, an exhibition conceived and curated by Alma Leya.
Phenomenology: Dream vs Reality is an exhibition based on the concept of one’s dream or expectation against reality.
Open Call for Curators: JCAL Visual Voices Fellowship - Deadline May 16th, $4000 per exhibition
JCAL invites six emerging and midcareer visual arts curators to apply for the second cycle of Visual Voices, a three-year fellowship (2025-2027).
The fellows will receive comprehensive institutional support to curate at least 12 exhibitions at JCAL and partner sites through 2027.
Open Call For Playwrights: JCAL's Meet the Playwright Series Seeks Unpublished, Unproduced Plays -Stipend $2000 Deadline April 28th
In MTP2025, each selected playwright receives a $2,000 stipend. With this stipend, each playwright covers the cost of engaging directors, actors, and any other collaborators (e.g., dramaturgs, designers) they wish. Each playwright also receives at least one, but up to two, private readings of the play at JCAL, and will meet monthly with the MTP Program Manager.
Open Call For Visual Artists: Beyond Familiar Exhibition - Artists Receive $250 Stipend, Deadline April 28th
JCAL is seeking applications from multidisciplinary artists to showcase original work in Beyond Familiar, an exhibition conceived and curated by Wanda Best.
We invite submissions of visual representations of the pop art movement or similar styles. Pop Art is characterized by its use of imagery from popular culture, such as advertising and everyday objects, often employing bold colors and simple forms.
Open Call For Dancers/Choreographers: Making Moves Dance Festival - Up to $3,000 Commissions Deadline May 16th
MMDF2025 will present commissions by and performances from up to nine choreographers at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center from Friday to Sunday, September 19 to 21, 2025.
