Check Out These Black History Month Festivities

In February 2025, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (JCAL) will celebrate Black History Month with West African Dance at JCAL: A Black History Month Presentation. Along with two evenings of live performances on February 21st and February 22nd, JCAL will also present interactive dance workshops on February 11th and February 12th. Both the performances and the workshops will take place at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center (153-10 Jamaica Avenue).
West African Dance at JCAL: A Black History Month Presentation will be led by Kofago Dance Ensemble and FANIKE! West African Dance Troupe. The concerts will take place at 8 pm, and are priced at $20. JCAL is also offering a two-for-one discount for early bird registrants and a $30 bundle price for registrants who would like to attend both events.
JCAL will build on its tradition of presenting West African Dance during February, by offering interactive dance workshops. The workshops will take place at 7 pm, led by Bakary Fall of Kofago Dance Ensemble, and Lenea Stevens of FANIKE! West African Dance Troupe. The workshops are priced at $20, with an early bird two-for-one discount until February 1st.
