JCAL is a vibrant cultural hub and community anchor, home to a wide range of self-produced visual and performing arts programs as well as events from neighboring arts organizations and community partners. JCAL fosters collaboration by offering its spaces for the development and presentation of work at accessible rates, ensuring that creativity thrives across Southeast Queens and beyond.

Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning thanks the NY State Council on the Arts for its support of subsidized rental rates for rehearsal spaces. Qualified applicants access to rehearsal spaces at Jamaica Arts Center for just $10 per hour.

JAMAICA ARTS CENTER

At our headquarters (161-04 Jamaica Avenue)—a five-floor, 45,000-square-foot landmark building, we offer a pair of art galleries, rehearsal spaces for dance and theater, music practice rooms, visual arts studios (including ceramics and animation), a 3D digital art lab, and a 99-seat black-box proscenium theater.

JAMAICA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER


At our state-of-the-art Jamaica Performing Arts Center (153-10 Jamaica Avenue), we offer a 400-seat, multi-functional performance space that can be configured to accommodate a wide array of events. At JPAC, we offer full-service front- and back-of-house amenities, management and support staff, a “sky-box” conference room and a multi-purposes rehearsal and performance spaces.

NEED REHEARSAL SPACE?

Through a continuing grant from the NY State Council on the Arts, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning is again offering qualified applicants access to subsidized rehearsal spaces at Jamaica Arts Center ( 161-04 Jamaica Avenue ) for just $10 per hour. Submit a rental request form to confirm eligibility.

This space grant is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
